- the cnf file.Blank or erase this file if u don't want to
- execute make. If make doesn't work, this means that there is
- a connected channel. There is an alternative way also,to
- avoid erasing and rewriting lines in make file.Just put an
- '*' in front of these cmds you don't want to execute.
-
- * Make instructions:

- P-private,B-bulletin, T-traffic,S-same,
- E-extended) to address.If we send a
- private msg to a valid call,it will go
- to one station only, even if we have
- declared more destinations in the dest.fwd
- file. The only way to send it to all of the
- predeclared destinations is the 'S' type.
- BBs fwds this msg as a private msg to
- all destinations.
-
- Syntax :
- SP SV7AIZ, OR
- S SV7AIZ, OR
- S SV7AIZ @ SV7AIZ,OR
- SP SV7AIZ @ SV7AIZ,OR
- SB XXXXXX @ XXXXXX < XXXXXX $XXXXXXXX
- | | | | |
- | | | | |_ Bid
- | | | |_From
- | | |_Atbbs
- | |_To station
- |_Type
-
- There is an automatic BID generation option.BBS adds a BID
- when we type the following:
-
- SX XXXXXX @ XXXXXX < XXXXXX $
-
- So,a standalone '$' cause bbs to generate a BID.

-
-
-
- ********** REMOTE SYSOP **********
-
-
-
- @ : This command is available only on remote
- sysops.It has no effect on sysop window.If u
- wish to have remote access to your bbs, then
- you have to send in a channel a '@'. BBS
- responds with some numbers. (Max 5
- numbers). These numbers have to do with your
- password, which you have declared in the cnf
- file. You must send one letter of your
- password,for each number.
- For example:
-
- Our password is SPiRoS.
-
- We send a @.
-
- Bbs responds :
-
- Remote Sysop Verification : 1 3 4 2
-
- We must send : SiRP,to have remote access.
-
- Bbs responds : REMOTE > (ok)
-
- Else Bbs responds :You are not a Remote
- Sysop.
-
- - Password's length must be up to 25
- characters.
- - You have to mark yourself,or any other,as a
- sysop in the user's data base,if u wish to
- have remote access.Otherwise, bbs responds
- with 'invalid command.'.
- - Another '@' cause bbs to return to normal
- mode operation.
-
- REMOTE CMDS : All sysop-window cmds are available with
- some minor changes:
-
- In case of DU,DB,DS,DX,DR:
- PU : Display users.
- PB : Display bbss.
- PS : Display sysops.
- PX : Display expert users.
- PR : Display registered users.
- PE : Display excluded users.
-
-
- Cmds like U,D,W,Z,have also a different way of use.If we
- add an '*' in front of each path, bbs ignores all the
- predefined paths in the cnf file and follows the exact path
- we have typed.
-
- For example:
-
- If we have declared our files directory, in the cnf file
- as FILES,and we send the cmd 'W',bbs searches the directory
- FILES. If we send a 'W *\',bbs will search our root
- directory.
-
- More examples follow to get the difference:
-
- Assuming that we have defined C:\BBS\FILES\ dir in the
- cnf file,like the above:
-
- W = DIR C:\BBS\FILES\
- W ALL = DIR C:\BBS\FILES\ALL\
- W *\ = DIR C:\
- W *\TOOLS\ = DIR C:\TOOLS\
- W *D:\ = DIR D:\
- U DX\DX.BTN = UPLOAD TO C:\BBS\FILES\DX\......
- U *\DX\DX.BTN = UPLOAD TO C:\DX\...
- D DX\DX.BTN = DNLOAD TO C:\BBS\FILES\DX\......
- D *\DX\DX.BTN = DNLOAD TO C:\DX\...
- Z DX\DX.BTN = ERASE C:\BBS\FILES\DX\......
- Z *\DX\DX.BTN = ERASE C:\DX\...
-
-
- Plus,
-
- # : System's reboot.
- ! : Make procedure.
- - X : Disconnect channel <X>.
-
- Note*.There is no chance to change fwd file during remote
- operation.

- --- Notes for users. ---
-
- This is what we see when issue an EU cmd:
-
- Call Name TBL Ct Zip LastLogin Home
- | | ||| | | | |
- | | ||| | | | |
- | | ||| | Zip code | |
- | | ||| | | |

- | | ||| | No explain
- | | ||| Login count
- | | ||Bidlevel
- | | |Bidok
- | | usrtype
- | Username
- User call
-
-
- 1.There are 6 user types.(U)nregistered user,(R)egistered
- user,(B)bs,(X)pert user,(L)ocal user,(S)ysop. Each user
- has also a bid flag(BidOk).If this flag is 'N' then bbs
- rejects these msgs which include bids, coming from this
- user. Its default status is 'Y'.You have to fix that
- manualy by using the 'EU' command. You have to mark fwd
- stations as bbss by using the 'EU' command.
- If your fwd path with a station is only for private
- mails, then, you better have to avoid bids.(Bid flag ='N').
- All other paths must have bid access.(Bid flag ='Y').
- (Don't forget to put the right value on the bid
- flag,because u'll never take fwd).
-
- 2.Most of the new multiuser bbss use additional bid
- responses,to avoid bid duplications,fwd delays etc.These
- new responses are:
-
- LATER
- >
-
- Which means, send this bulletin later for the final
- ack, because someone else is trying to send it on another
- channel.
-
- REJECT
- >
-
- Which means, something is wrong from the sender's side.
-
- Well, bbs has to know these kinds of stations,so another
- usertype field has been added which has to do with the bid
- level (Bidlevel). If you have fwd path with a station which
- contains this level, during fwd synchronization, bbs knows
- automatically what to do.In all other cases, you have to
- mark him.
-

- Enjoy,Spiros.
